Q&A: joining the coast guard.. what to expect?
Question by Mel Gibson: joining the coast guard.. what to expect?
been waiting 2 years for the call, and got it last week. boot camp is january 4th.
i dont alot of details bcus my contract isnt finished yet but its a certain thing.
now i cant believe everything my recruiter tells me, so from your perspective whats life in the coast guard going to be like?
should i do 4 years active 4 years reserve? or 6/2 ?? (just looking for opinions and experiences, im not asking for answers to my questions that i need to answer)
whats boot camp like? what comes after boot camp?
most importantly, i want to make the best of this experience and pursue any available opportunity’s for a future career in law enforcement or homeland security,
– so what are some things i should cover with my recruiter before signing any contracts??
-is this recruiter really just saying anything i wanna hear to get me to join, or is he being truthful and trying to help me?
any advice is appreciated.
gosh that was so helpful thx loser

Get ready to eat bon bons and go on a fabulous cruise! Seriously, unless you are disabled, or a women, you need to belong to a branch of the military. The coast guard is civil service, not military.
